Italy is totally surrounded by the sea and it has a long historical tradition in sailing. Sailor republics of Venezia, Genova, Pisa and Amalfi between the Xth and XIIIth century were equipped with a efficient naval fleet with which they were able to cross the Mediterranean sea to trade different goods and nowadays the recent performances of Luna Rossa and Mascalzone Latino at the America’s Cup and Louis Vitton Cup testify the Italian knowledge and skill in boats design and sailing. Italian yachts are not only unique for a continuous research of new materials and innovative technologies and for their high level of functionality and quality, but also for their design, carefully cared by Italian boats designers.
